How to rehabilitate after periacetabular osteotomy?

Hello, Director Chen! I found that many of the questions are actually repetitive. I can’t help but have an idea whether it is possible to give patients who have undergone periacetabular osteotomy a paper copy of the rehabilitation training materials like the preoperative letter, so that they know what to do in the future and why they should do it, so as to reduce blindness and increase the exercise This will reduce blindness, increase the initiative and conscientiousness of exercise, and achieve good rehabilitation results. According to my personal experience of undergoing peri-acetabular osteotomy, I have tried to write a “Post-operative rehabilitation training arrangement for peri-acetabular osteotomy”, but I am sure there are omissions, unclear or even mistakes. If this suggestion is feasible, you should revise and improve it. I am making you laugh. Rehabilitation exercise after periacetabular osteotomy: Rehabilitation exercise is an important continuation of periacetabular osteotomy. 1, from the first day to wear corrective shoes, the role is to prevent the affected leg foot plate inversion. The wearing time varies from person to person depending on the effect. 2.From day 3, sit on the edge of the bed with the help of nursing staff and turn over to the good side with a pillow between the legs; from day 5, walk on the ground with both crutches (the affected foot does not touch the ground). As the body recovers, the time for these 3 movements gradually increases. 3. Within one week, start to bend the affected leg and lift it up. 4.In two to three weeks, gradually increase the amount of activity of the affected leg, do bending knee, bending knee up and down swinging calf, bending knee up lifting leg action to prevent muscle atrophy of the affected leg. 5.From the third week after surgery, do lateral kicking, mainly to exercise the hip abductors, which is beneficial to improve the walking gait after surgery. In standing position, kick out the affected leg to the outside. Gradually increase the amplitude and frequency, and after a period of time, no less than 500 times a day. 6.From the seventh week onwards, lying on the side with the affected leg on top, straighten and lift upwards. The amplitude and number of times gradually increased, after a period of time, not less than 500 times a day. 5, the purpose of the 6 exercises is to exercise the hip abductor muscle, the exercise is not in place, later walking will limp, walking will sway. 7.After two months, go back to the hospital for a review and take a “pelvic orthostatic” film to see how the bones are growing. After taking the film at the local hospital, you can visit Dr. Chen Xiaodong’s personal website (URL), register and post it in the “patient consultation area”. Or send it to Dr. Chen’s email address: [email protected] (If you can copy the film to a USB drive after taking the film at the local hospital, it is best to upload it, otherwise you can use a digital camera to take the film and upload it.) 8. After Director Chen confirms that the bone growth is good, ① under the condition of double crutches, the affected foot is on the ground and partially weight-bearing (usually no more than 30 kg of weight-bearing). ②Can turn over by himself and sleep to the affected side. 9.Since two and a half months, walking with one crutch. 10.After the bones grew back three months after the surgery, he took off the crutches and walked and practiced squatting. 11.As arranged by Director Chen, the bone growth was checked again at three or four months by taking pictures. 12, rehabilitation exercise process, the affected leg muscle pain phenomenon, movement occasionally joint ringing, leg roots have a wooden feeling, is normal, with the passage of time will slowly disappear. When the pain is severe, exercise can be suspended. Or take some anti-inflammatory and painkillers, such as Fotonin, etc. 13, there is an abnormal situation, timely consultation and examination. These are some of my personal experiences, I would like to share them with you, and I wish the patients who underwent osteotomy a speedy recovery and enjoy a happy life!
