The probability of pneumonia in newborns is very high and is mainly related to whether the baby was inhaled by mistake during delivery, the basic condition of the mother and whether the newborn was born prematurely, and the hand hygiene of the midwife is also very important. Pneumonia in newborns is associated with high fever, cough, dyspnea, irritability, and cyanosis of the lips. Therefore, once pneumonia occurs in a neonate, aggressive anti-infective therapy is required to avoid complications such as respiratory and heart failure that may lead to neonatal death. After the onset of pneumonia, the neonate needs to be actively monitored, including changes in heart rate, oxygen saturation and blood pressure.
