What is a close contact
Those who have one of the following contact situations with the case (observed and confirmed cases) after the onset of the disease.
1, people who live, study, work or otherwise have close contact with the case
2.Medical personnel, family members or other persons with similar close contact with the case who did not take effective protective measures when treating, caring for or visiting the case
3, other patients and companions in the same ward as the case
4, cases and cases in the same transport and have close contact with the personnel.
5.Persons who are assessed to be eligible after investigation by on-site investigators.
What is a mildly ill patient with novel coronavirus
Novel coronavirus mildly ill patients are some asymptomatic people with mild symptoms suspected or with a clear history of exposure, who can be self-isolated and observed to ensure their own safety and that of their family and friends. The main points include the following.
1. gold standard: home isolation is requested after medical assessment.
2.Mild symptoms, such as low fever (<38℃), which can subside on its own.
3.No respiratory distress, no wheezing.
4, with or without cough.
5, no chronic diseases, such as lung disease, heart disease, renal failure, immune diseases, etc.
What is a critically ill patient with novel coronavirus
A critically ill case of novel coronavirus infection is one in which the vital signs are unstable, the condition changes rapidly, and the function of two or more organ systems is unstable, decompensated or failing condition progresses in a way that may endanger the patient’s life.
What is a suspected case of novel coronavirus pneumonia
A case is considered suspected when 2 of the following are met at the same time.
1. epidemiological history: history of travel or residence in Wuhan within two weeks prior to the onset of the disease; previous contact with a patient with fever with respiratory symptoms from Wuhan within 14 days prior to the onset of the disease; or a clustered illness.
2. Clinical manifestations: fever; imaging features of viral pneumonia; normal or reduced total white blood cell count or reduced lymphocyte count early in the onset of the disease.
Complications of novel coronavirus pneumonia
Severe cases may progress rapidly to acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis and coagulopathy.
