Side effects of nifedipine extended-release tablets

The incidence of nifedipine common dose adverse reactions is about 6%, mainly related to rapid dilatation of peripheral blood vessels, such as headache, facial flushing, vertigo, postural hypotension, palpitations, ankle edema, etc.; after 2 weeks of continuous use, most of the above adverse reactions are reduced or disappear on their own. At the same time, the rapid dilatation of arterial blood vessels and lowering of blood pressure often cause reflex sympathetic excitation, which is not good for reducing myocardial oxygen consumption. The side effects of nifedipine are summarized as follows: 1. Liver: Occasional jaundice and elevated glutamate oxaloacetate aminotransferase and glutamate (amino)propionate (ketoacid) aminotransferase. 2. Circulatory system: Occasional chest pain, headache, flushing, eye blur, palpitations, decreased blood pressure, swelling of lower extremities, etc. 3. Allergic reactions: Occasional allergic symptoms such as measles and itching. 4. Digestive system: Occasional abdominal pain 5, Oral: Gum hypertrophy may occur. 6, Metabolic abnormalities, occasional symptoms of hyperglycemia. In addition, children and pregnant women are prohibited. Nifedipine can be secreted into breast milk, nursing women should stop the drug or stop breastfeeding. Use with caution in patients with hypotension, which may result in low blood pressure. Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis, hepatic or renal insufficiency.
