In general gastritis patients can drink cornmeal or corn porridge, etc., unless the patient with acute gastritis is currently experiencing frequent nausea and vomiting symptoms, before temporarily refraining from eating solid foods. It is best to try to eat a liquid diet, a relatively warm liquid diet, such as rice soup, warm water first. Only after the condition has gradually subsided do you change to a semi-liquid diet, at which point you can drink corn porridge or eat corn noodle soup. If a patient with gastritis has no obvious clinical symptoms, congee and noodle food are not contraindicated. However, if there are obvious clinical symptoms, you can temporarily start with a liquid diet and then gradually transition to a semi-liquid diet, in consultation with the doctor you are seeing.
