What to expect after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation?

  1.Brake the right lower extremity for 6 hours and lie flat for 12-18 hours.  2.Fluid or semi-liquid diet for 2 weeks.  3.Proton pump inhibitors for 2 weeks to protect the esophagus.  4.Anti-arrhythmic drugs (specific drugs according to the doctor’s recommendation) should be taken for at least 3 months.  5.Anticoagulant drugs (transition from low molecular heparin to warfarin or NOAC) should be taken for at least 3 months.  6.After discharge, follow up every 2-4 weeks in outpatient clinic, the specific frequency is based on the doctor’s recommendation.  7.After discharge, if there is any discomfort, promptly visit the emergency clinic.
