Infant formula is not recommended for diabetic patients. In order to imitate the taste of breast milk, the baby milk powder sold on the market will add a certain amount of sugar, which is not conducive to the control of blood glucose after drinking by diabetic patients; however, diabetic patients can choose to drink unsweetened milk powder, which generally does not adversely affect the patient’s blood glucose, and can supplement calcium, protein and other nutrients, and lower calorie and fat content. Diabetic patients should maintain a balanced diet, avoiding foods high in sugar, fat and salt, as this will not help control blood glucose and may increase the risk of complications such as diabetic vasculopathy. Patients diagnosed with diabetes should also actively cooperate with their doctors in the use of hypoglycemic drugs.
