Does microlithiasis affect fertility?

It may affect fertility. Testicular microlithiasis is characterised by numerous calcified foci of <3mm in diameter diffusely distributed in the testicular spermatogenic tubules, which means that the stones are located at the channels that transport sperm. Testicular microlithiasis can therefore not only lead to low fertility, but may also cause male infertility, especially when combined with varicocele.
