How long can sigmoid colon cancer survive after surgery is mainly related to the early and late stage of sigmoid colon cancer. Early stage colon cancer, with small tumor and shallow invasion depth, can be cured through colonoscopy or surgical resection, and 80%-90% of patients can achieve long-term survival. For late stage colon cancer, if it is a limited single metastasis, it can be completely removed by surgery and then combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which can significantly prolong the survival time and even achieve long-term survival. If there is extensive metastasis such as liver metastasis or lung metastasis or more distant metastasis of colon cancer, nutritional support therapy can be used to improve patients’ quality of life, but the treatment effect is poor, and patients’ 5-year survival rate is significantly reduced. Therefore, the early stage of the disease is closely related to the survival period, so early detection and early treatment are necessary to have good treatment effect. Colon cancer patients’ diet should be light, less and more meals, no spicy and stimulating food, appropriate yam, barley, milk, soy products and other anti-cancer foods, try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and keep bowel movement smooth.
