Can I take progesterone if I don’t get my period?

If your period does not come, you can inject progesterone intramuscularly once a day at 20mg for 3 days, provided that pregnancy is ruled out, and your period will come 3-7 days after you stop taking the drug. Be careful not to inject progesterone every other day during the intramuscular injection, as it can cause irregular vaginal bleeding. Patients who are allergic to progesterone should also not be given intramuscular progesterone injections. If you still do not have menstruation on the 8th day after stopping the medication, it is recommended to go to the hospital to rule out premature ovarian failure, pelvic tuberculosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and pelvic tumors as causes of menopause.
