The trend of new infections of novel coronavirus pneumonia has been declining in some areas, and the epidemic is expected to ease. Academician Zhong Nanshan expects the peak to occur in mid to late February and may end by April. These predictions are based on existing mathematical models, the recent epidemic situation and the measures taken by the government. However, there are still other uncertainties, including whether the novel coronavirus can be transmitted through feces and whether there are “super-spreaders”.
