In the early stages of breast cancer, there are usually no symptoms, and breast itching is not usually present. It can also be caused by inflammation or allergies, excluding eczema-like cancer.
If the skin is widely invaded, there may be many hard nodules or small strips of epidermis that may even fuse together to form a sheet, and if the lesion extends to the back and opposite chest wall, it may restrict breathing and form an armored carcinoma, which is usually painful.
Inflammatory breast cancer has a marked enlargement of the breast, red and swollen skin, increased local skin surface temperature, earlier skin invasion, and red and swollen skin that is usually not painful; in addition, advanced breast cancer has skin breakdown and cancerous ulcers.
Lastly, we must rule out eczema-like carcinoma, also known as nipple areola Paget’s disease, which is a rare clinical breast cancer, and we recommend going to a regular hospital to see a breast specialist for diagnosis and, if necessary, scraping cytopathological examination to clarify the diagnosis before targeted treatment.
