Common signs and symptoms of anorexia include refusal to drink milk, poor sleep quality, shortness of breath and loss of appetite. Anorexia is a stage in the growth and development process of infants, mostly occurring between 3-6 months. Clinically, anorexia is divided into physiological anorexia and pathological anorexia. In physiologic anorexia, the baby’s main symptoms include refusal to drink milk, poor sleep quality, easy to wake up, no weight gain, but will not be accompanied by other serious symptoms. Pathologic anorexia is mainly related to acute otitis media, thrush, oral herpes and other diseases. For pathological anorexia, the child mainly shows shortness of breath, loss of appetite, mouth pain, crying and restlessness, no air through the nose, etc. It can also be accompanied by other symptoms such as abdominal pain, elevated temperature, abdominal distension and lethargy. For babies with physiological anorexia, parents can adjust the feeding mode to help the baby get through this period. If the anorexia is pathologic, the baby should be treated according to medical advice. During the baby’s growth and development, parents should pay attention to reasonable feeding, avoid frequent change of milk powder, and also timely add complementary food according to the baby’s condition, to meet its nutritional needs.
