How are meningiomas treated?

Meningioma is a common intracranial tumor, the second most common intracranial tumor, with an incidence rate between 10-20%. It is more common in women and most of them are benign tumors, with first symptoms including headache, epilepsy and other symptoms. Do meningiomas require treatment? The answer is yes, the vast majority of patients need treatment because the tumor is growing over time and will eventually cause symptoms or even endanger life. In addition, there are some malignant meningiomas and benign malignancies. Early diagnosis and early surgical treatment will be very satisfactory in the long term. Only a few cases including extremely elderly and physically inoperable patients can be observed. Some patients are worried about the risk of surgery, especially those without obvious symptoms. Once meningioma is detected, surgery should be considered. For meningioma of special location, surgery is too much damage, palliative treatment, partial excision + radiotherapy or radiotherapy (r-knife) is available. Treatment of parenchymal reticulocytoma Vascular reticulocytoma of central nervous system is relatively rare, benign tumor, mainly occurs in cerebellum, brainstem and spinal cord, first symptoms, different symptoms depending on its location, main treatment means is surgery, most of them are cystic, tumor is in the capsule, surgery is relatively simple, a few capsules are in the tumor and substantial blood network, smaller parenchymal The smaller parenchymal blood network does not cause symptoms and can be observed. The larger parenchymal blood network has obvious symptoms and needs surgery, but the blood network is rich in blood supply, which makes surgery difficult, bleeding and risky, so in the past, our hospital and most hospitals at present refuse this kind of surgery, we now treat it by preoperative tumor embolization + surgery, which greatly reduces the risk of surgery, and the postoperative results are very satisfactory in the near and distant future.
