What are the treatments for frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder occurs in middle-aged people around 50 years old, also known as “50 shoulder”. It is caused by chronic inflammation of the muscles, tendons, bursa, joint capsule and other soft tissues around the shoulder joint, resulting in pain and impaired movement around the shoulder joint as the main symptoms. Treatment: 1. General treatment Oral anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs and herbs for blood circulation, external rubs and patches. Physical therapy and massage are also available. It is suitable for patients with early and light disease. 2.Nerve block therapy: suprascapular nerve block, axillary nerve block, pressure pain point block around the shoulder joint, stellate ganglion block. 3.Small needle knife therapy For patients with limited lesions, small needle knife treatment is given in the bursa, tendon sheath, muscle tension and myofascia where pressure pain is obvious; or after pain point block, local anesthetic is injected to form a dermatome when withdrawing the needle, and the needle knife is pierced through the dermatome to reach the diseased tissue, peel off and loosen the adhesions and cut the scar. 4.Manipulative release under anesthesia For those who have developed a frozen shoulder with significantly limited function, the soft tissue adhesions around the shoulder joint are released under intravenous general anesthesia.
