Karl’s aim with inner imagery therapy is to motivate the patient to fight cancer and to influence the function of the immune system through relaxation and imagery training. Inner imagery and relaxation are usually combined and the patient is asked to try to complete the whole process in 10-15 minutes. It is done 3 times a day. Go to a quiet room with soft light, sit on a comfortable sofa with your hands flat on the armrests, both feet flat on the floor and gently close your eyes. Pay attention to your breathing. Take a few deep, slow breaths and say the word “relax” silently on each exhalation. Apply the instructions to the rest of the body, slowly moving down to the jaw, neck, shoulders, back, forearms, hands, chest, abdomen, thighs, calves, heels, feet and toes, until every part of the body is relaxed. No matter what part of the body you are in, mentally conceive of tension, then conceive of tension slowly being removed, tense the part, and then relax it. Now imagine yourself in a natural environment that makes you feel comfortable and happy. Imagine that the air is fresh, colorful, and the birds are singing, and imagine that you are very relaxed and comfortable in this natural environment for 2-3 minutes. Then mentally depict the tumor in real or symbolic terms, imagining the cancer as a bunch of very confused and fragile cells. Remember that during normal life, our organism is capable of destroying cancerous cells millions of times. When you portray a tumor, recognize that your recovery requires that your own defenses return to a normal state of health. Imagine white blood cells in your body entering the area where the cancer is located, finding those cancer cells, and then killing it. There are a large number of such white cells in your body, they are very strong, aggressive and very shrewd, the cancer cells are no match for them, the white cells will definitely win the battle. Imagine the cancer tumor gradually shrinking and the dead cancer cells being carried away by the white cells and excreted from the body through the liver and kidneys in the stool and urine. Continue to see the cancer shrink until it disappears completely. At the same time one’s appetite increases and one has more energy. Imagine yourself getting rid of the disease and gradually regaining your health. Inwardly congratulate yourself for playing an important role in restoring your health, and feel very comfortable seeing yourself doing the inner imagery method three times a day. After completing the whole set of exercises, you need to draw a picture to show what you have imagined and analyze it with your practitioner. It should be noted that if your mind is not focused during the training, you cannot relax well, or you cannot imagine any specific picture, please do not be anxious, do it a few more times and you will get better naturally. It should be noted that no matter what image the patient visualizes of cancer cells, treatment and white blood cells, as long as the patient himself feels that the cancer cells are fragile, that the treatment measures and his own resistance are strong and sufficient to be able to completely and utterly destroy the cancer cells and see himself back to health, it is a good inner imagery.
