What is frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder is a chronic inflammation of the muscles, tendons, joint capsule and bursa of the shoulder joint, which can be accompanied by tearing of the joint capsule, the result of which leads to extra-articular adhesions, restricted joint movement and muscle atrophy. The basic factor in the development of frozen shoulder is degenerative changes in the soft tissues surrounding the shoulder joint. The main manifestation of frozen shoulder is pain and limited movement of the shoulder joint. The disease often occurs in middle-aged and elderly people over 40 years old, and is commonly known as frozen shoulder, frozen shoulder or dewy shoulder. Cold, moisture and shoulder sprains are the main triggers for the development of frozen shoulder.
