Stage III sigmoid colon cancer is still a mid-stage bowel cancer. There are many factors affecting the prognosis, such as the number of lymph node metastases, the more metastases, the higher the risk of recurrence; besides, it also depends on whether there are high-risk factors such as nerve invasion and vascular cancer embolism, if these factors are combined at the same time, the risk of recurrence will increase; there is also the quality of surgery, high-quality radical surgery can reduce the risk of recurrence; also, standardized adjuvant chemotherapy is needed after surgery, if the lymph node metastases are greater than 3 lymph node metastases, adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended for six months to minimize the risk of recurrence. Generally speaking, stage III intestinal cancer has a chance to be cured after standardized treatment. Generally, it is at high risk of recurrence within 2 years after surgery, so if the problem is detected and treated early within this period, some patients can still have a chance to be cured. If there is no recurrence 5 years after surgery, then the risk of recurrence will be significantly reduced. Suggestions: receiving standardized surgery, standard adjuvant chemotherapy regimen and timing after surgery, regular postoperative review, exercise, and maintaining a good attitude and diet can minimize the risk of recurrence.
