Urine attracts ants suggesting that it may be positive for urine sugar, and positive urine sugar does not necessarily mean diabetes. The common causes of positive urine sugar include diabetes mellitus, renal tubular disease, etc. It is also seen in transient elevation of urine sugar after intravenous infusion of large amounts of hypertonic glucose solution. Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus: fasting blood glucose ≥7.0 mmol/L, random blood glucose or 2-hour blood glucose ≥11.1 mmol/L after OGTT, coupled with symptoms of polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, and weight loss, and high urine glucose is only used as a clue to the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. When urine attracts ants, it is recommended to go to the hospital to find out whether it is diabetes, and if it is diabetes, early treatment is recommended.
