Five simple moves for easy post-knee replacement rehab exercises!

Rehabilitation after knee replacement surgery is a long-term process. Some patients tend to consciously reduce the amount of postoperative rehab exercises in the early postoperative period because the pain is not effectively controlled, followed by stiffness of the leg and inability to bend and straighten. It is very important to have effective rehabilitation for post-operative rehabilitation with adequate pain control.
The purpose of this phase of rehabilitation is to increase joint mobility and prevent fibrous joint adhesions.
  1.Knee straightening exercises
Sit on a hard surface (not a soft bed or recliner)
Place the leg to be extended on a stool or chair of equal height.
Lean forward, place your hands on the kneecap and push down, slowly for 30 seconds to straighten the knee.
Repeat three times for each leg.
  2.Sitting knee bend
Maintain a seated position with both knees bent.
Slowly move your feet under the chair, keeping your feet parallel to the ground
Hold this position for five seconds and slowly move your knees to the initial position, you will feel a stretch in the front of your knees.
Repeat ten times for each leg.
  3.Sitting leg kick training
Maintain a seated position with both knees bent.
Slowly kick the leg until the leg is parallel to the ground.
Hold this position for five seconds, then slowly return the knee to its initial position.
Repeat ten times for each leg.
  4.Sitting ankle pump training
Keep your feet parallel to the ground.
Gently swing your ankle up and down, you will feel a slight stretch in your calf muscles.
Repeat ten times for each leg.
  5.Sitting leg lift training
Maintain a seated position with both knees bent.
Raise your knees vertically upward, then slowly return your legs to their initial position.
Repeat 10 times for each leg.
The above groups of movements, whether watching TV, reading or resting can be synchronized, very simple and effective. Of course, everyone is different, so if you encounter any problems during the exercises, please follow the advice of your primary care physician.
