How can scar formation be reduced after facial injuries

Facial trauma is one of the most common injuries in daily life and is a major concern for people. The most important concern after an injury is whether there will be scars? What can be done to avoid or reduce scarring? Scarring is a repair process initiated by the body after a tissue injury, and if the repair is excessive, a visible scar will grow. How can scars be minimized? 1. Good alignment is the key. After facial trauma, the wound is first minimally invasive sutured, preferably with special cosmetic sutures (there will be no needle eyes after suturing, avoiding the wound like a centipede after general surgical suturing). 2. It is vital to avoid tension in the wound. Tension is an important cause of scarring. If there is a skin defect, the doctor should find a way to reduce tension, and wounds that cannot be directly sutured can be repaired by transferring skin flaps. 3, Early application of recombinant human epidermal cell growth factor to promote wound healing is very important to reduce scars. 4, Immediately after stitch removal, apply scar prevention drugs such as: scar cream, scar paste, etc. 5.For those who have keloid, trimethoprim ointment can be applied early. 6.For the parts with tension, it can be fixed with tension-reducing tape for 3 months. 7.The prevention of scar needs at least 3 months.
