Bruising purple would be a little more severe. Both purple and cyan are produced by ruptured capillaries bleeding due to trauma, medication, disease, etc. Cyan refers to a shorter period of bleeding, while purple suggests a longer period of subcutaneous bleeding. When capillaries rupture, the skin is bright red in color, which is primarily the color of blood. Over time, macrophages engulf the red blood cells that have died, which in turn leads to the destruction of hemoglobin, and a purple bruise appears, followed by a cyan bruise as well, and as the bruise is about to recover, iron ions combine with ferritin to form yellow iron-containing hemoglobin. When the bruise appears yellow, it usually indicates that the wound is about to recover. If the bruising is caused by trauma, it is recommended to apply cold compresses within 24 hours. Cold compresses can promote vasoconstriction and thus inhibit bleeding. After 24 hours, when the blood vessels are no longer bleeding, hot towels can be used to apply hot compresses to speed up the flow of bruises and recover more quickly. If inexplicable bruising occurs on the patient’s body, he or she should go to the hospital for examination to rule out blood-based diseases. In addition, when this condition occurs on the skin, it is important to choose a light and easily digestible diet, pay attention to local warmth, avoid getting cold, quit smoking, quit drinking, and eat less spicy, seafood and other stimulating foods. Also avoid falls and bumps to avoid aggravation of symptoms.
