However, the treatment of deficiency cold in the lung and kidney by this formula has been questioned by later generations of medical practitioners. It is true that only rehmannia and angelica are in the formula to fill the kidney yin, and no yang tonic is found in the whole formula. It is suitable for those with lung and kidney yin deficiency and water flooding as phlegm. In other places, Jing Yue discusses Jin Shui Liu Jun Decoction with “Yin deficiency, phlegm and dryness and cough, Jin Shui Liu Jun Decoction”, “Where there is a deficiency of Yin and blood, or the spleen and lung deficiency of cold people, it is most likely to feel the evil. However, if the pulse is weak, the chest and diaphragm are not stagnant, or the kidney is deficient, the water floods with phlegm, or the heart is noisy and vomits, or the heart is hungry and vomits, or the blood is weak and the cough cannot be cured, it is advisable to add and reduce Jinshui Liujun Decoction. The formula is still suitable for those with deficiency in lung and kidney yin, water flooded with phlegm, or old age, deficiency in yin, deficiency in blood and qi, external wind and cold, cough and vomiting, phlegm and wheezing, etc. Mr. Jiao Shu De also said that this formula is not only nourishing Yin but also resolving phlegm, treating phlegm-rich cough and vomiting without injuring the lungs and kidneys, which is really effective in clinical use. Complaint: Western medicine has diagnosed bronchial asthma for three years. He has been treated by Chinese and Western medicine for one year, taking Xiao Qing Long Tang, ephedrine, aminophylline and other drugs, but still no effect. When he came to the clinic, he was coughing and shortness of breath and moaning. He complained of uncomfortable chest congestion and unpleasant sputum production, with the appearance that he was trying to suffocate his qi. His pulse was weak and deficient, his two feet were slightly astringent, his tongue was slightly white and greasy, he was thirsty for hot drinks, and he did not know how to eat, so his spleen was weak and dysfunctional, his lower element was not receptive, and his accumulated phlegm was rising with his qi. The formula uses ginger, almonds, two dollars each, Poria, Shu Di, three dollars each, angelica, Chen Pi, roasted grass, one dollar each, be straight ginseng, Wu Wei Zi five points, white mustard seeds, eight points, walnut four dollars.
