Why does the foot swell after a fracture?

There are several common reasons for local swelling after foot fracture: I. Due to the injury caused by acute violence, resulting in bone fracture, periosteal fracture and soft tissue injury around the fracture, small blood vessel fracture leads to bleeding, and local hematoma appears swollen. Second, the local hematoma leads to an increase in tissue interstitial pressure, which restricts the venous blood return and leads to the local accumulation of body fluids and swelling. Third, the inflammatory reaction due to the rupture of blood vessels after the injury leads to local inflammatory swelling. It is mainly due to the above aspects that lead to swelling after foot fracture.
