Healing time of metacarpal fractures

Normally, a metacarpal fracture can take between one and a half and two and a half months to heal. In addition, between one and a half months and two and a half months, the fracture can be fixed externally or internally, for example, if the fracture is not very obviously displaced, it can be fixed externally in a cast. The cast can be removed after the bone is closed, and the cast can be removed in 4-6 weeks to prevent joint adhesions. If the fracture is significantly displaced, manual repositioning is required. If the manual repositioning cannot achieve functional repositioning, surgical treatment is required. The fracture can heal after about one month to two and a half months of surgical treatment.
