Aseptic inflammation can cause febrile symptoms, one being redness, swelling and pain due to local soft tissue injury and the other being generalised fever due to tissue necrosis, such as the absorption of aseptic necrotic material after major surgery, but the body temperature is usually below 38°C. No specific treatment is usually required after the onset of fever and the body temperature can return to normal conditions after appropriate treatment for inflammation.
