The treatment of aseptic inflammation of the joints is etiologically related and there is no fixed optimal treatment, the treatment depends mainly on the specific cause. Anti-inflammatory medication, including NSAIDs and glucocorticoids, is usually required; meniscectomy or repair surgery if the meniscus is torn; ligament repair or reconstruction surgery if ligament damage is the cause; and anti-rheumatic medication if rheumatoid arthritis is present.
