The main manifestation of adenomyosis is dysmenorrhea, which is progressive and can lead to secondary anemia if it progresses to advanced stages. The severity of adenomyosis is also related to the progression of the disease. In mild adenomyosis, the main symptom is progressive dysmenorrhea, which can be tolerated. In severe adenomyosis, the ectopic endometrium grows diffusely, resulting in uniform enlargement of the uterus, thickening of the myometrium, and secondary adenomyoma. In addition to the obvious dysmenorrhea, the patient will have severe symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged periods, and secondary severe anemia.
