How are tumors identified and treated?

Tumor TCM diagnosis and treatment can be identified as qi stagnation and blood stasis (blood stagnation due to lack of circulation of qi), phlegm coagulation and dampness accumulation, internal blazing of heat and toxin, and qi and blood deficiencies, and so on.
1. Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome is characterized by distension and tightness in the chest and hypochondrium (a collective term for the chest and ribs), sexual urgency, lumps under the dorsum, stabbing pain and refusal to be pressed, pain in a fixed place, and palpable masses, etc. The treatment is to regulate qi and activate blood stasis, and to resolve the blood stasis. Treatment should be to regulate qi and activate blood circulation, dissolve blood stasis and eliminate accumulation of stagnation, and the formula is to add subtractions with Hematophagus and Blood Stasis Tang. It is mostly seen in primary liver cancer and advanced lung cancer.
2. If phlegm is obstructed in the lungs, there is coughing and sputum; if phlegm is obstructed in the heart, there is chest tightness and palpitation (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic); if phlegm stops in the stomach, there is nausea and vomiting, stomach and epigastric plumping (stomach distension); if phlegm is in the meridians and collaterals, there is scrofula (mainly refers to tuberculosis of cervical lymph nodes), phlegm nuclei (nodules swollen up under the skin, such as nuclei); if water-drinking stops in the interior, there is edema and fluid retention in the chest and abdomen.
The treatment is to dissolve phlegm and remove dampness, soften and disperse hard lumps. This type is mostly seen in esophageal cancer and lung cancer with hydrothorax and abdominal fluid.
3. Heat-poison internal incandescence syndrome is characterized by fever, red face and ears, thirst and desire for drinking, dry throat and tongue, heartburn and insomnia, dry stools and red urine, and vomiting and epistaxis. It is advisable to clear away heat and detoxification (to remove heat and toxicity in the body), which is mostly seen in advanced stage tumor with infection.
4. Qi and blood deficiency syndrome is characterized by dizziness, lack of energy and laziness, pale or yellowish color, palpitation and insomnia. Treatment should be to replenish qi and blood, nourish liver and kidney, mostly seen in patients with advanced tumors, or patients with deficiency of positive qi caused by surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.
Tumor patients need to consult doctor in time and use medicine after doctor’s diagnosis and typing. Do not use medicine on your own to avoid delaying the condition.
