Is the puffy eyes related to the kidney

  Puffy eyelids are not usually associated with the kidneys in a major way. Puffy eyes are manifested by bulging lower eyelids, while puffy eyelids due to kidney disease are mostly upper eyelid edema.  There are more causes of puffy bags under the eyes. The sudden discovery of localized redness and pain in the lower eyelid is considered to be blepharitis caused by bacterial infection of the lid gland, which spreads and leads to orbital cellulitis. If the lower eyelid appears red and swollen with itching, it is considered to be caused by allergies, and the opposite eye may also have a similar presentation. If the lower eyelid is contused and the eyelid skin is lacerated after eye trauma, there is usually significant bruising and bruising on the bags. Causes of puffy eyes are also related to staying up late, excessive eye use, lack of sleep, mental tension, and work stress. And if kidney disease gradually develops to the stage of kidney failure, the ability for water excretion will further decrease, which will lead to water retention in the body, resulting in puffy eyes edema, but mostly upper lid edema.  The appearance of puffy eyes is that patients should regulate mental stress, avoid drinking too much water before bedtime, and can use hot towels to warm compresses to promote blood circulation around the eyes, which can help eliminate puffiness.
