Is a sore throat due to AIDS?

A sore throat is not necessarily AIDS. Although AIDS patients can have symptoms of sore throat in the acute stage, there are many causes of sore throat, such as cough, pharyngitis, pneumonia, epiglottitis, influenza A, scarlet fever, laryngitis, chicken pox, rabies, etc. They all have different causes. AIDS is a chronic infectious disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV, which is transmitted mainly through direct sexual contact, blood, and mother-to-child transmission, and is characterized by rapid infection, relatively slow onset, and high mortality rate. At present, there is a lack of effective drugs to cure HIV infection worldwide, so AIDS still needs to be prevented.
