How to treat mild hypertension

Patient: Description of condition (onset, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): Two weeks ago, I found high blood pressure because of dizziness. 144/92 at that time, then successive measurements were 150/90, 130/80, 138/84, 160/90, and the highest was 160/90 anyway. I am only 26 years old, and I want to reduce my blood pressure by changing my lifestyle, and I want to know if this method is feasible. If so, how long will it be before my blood pressure doesn’t drop and I have to use medication? And now this blood pressure 160/90 on the body impact, I have more questions, please understand, thank you Dr. Tao in a busy time for my answer! Tao Bo: It is best to clarify the cause before treating hypertension, which requires a thorough examination. If it is primary hypertension usually requires lifelong medication. Suggestion: Click here to refer to my article “Non-pharmacological treatment for controlling hypertension”. Non-pharmacological treatment is limited to 3 months. Normal blood pressure is less likely to have cardiovascular complications than hypertension, so blood pressure should be controlled normally, and the approach can be a combination, as long as it achieves results it is a good approach. Patient: I am now in non-pharmacological treatment, as you said with a limit of three months. I think I should be caused by stressful thoughts, I myself am easily nervous and agitated. I bought myself an electronic blood pressure monitor and measured myself at home at 135/82, while I went to the hospital to measure 150/90, so is this the “white coat phenomenon”? I would also like to ask Dr. Tao: Will the life expectancy of hypertensive patients be affected if they are controlled by medication? I also want to ask Dr. Tao: will the life expectancy of a hypertensive patient be affected if he takes medication than a normal person who smokes? I have a lot of questions, please understand, please trouble you Tao Bo: Self-measurement at home about 135/82, but to go to the hospital to measure is 150/90, this is the “white coat phenomenon. It is recommended to do ambulatory blood pressure. Patients with hypertension will live longer with medication or other methods of control to bring their blood pressure into the normal range than without any treatment. Patients with high blood pressure take medication is more good than bad, and normal people smoke is more bad than good.
