Some patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia may experience headache, but this is not a typical manifestation of the disease and is not common. The main symptom of novel coronavirus infection is fever, which may be accompanied by malaise, dry cough, and progressive dyspnea, and in some cases, nasal congestion, runny nose, and diarrhea. A few patients have mild symptoms or even no significant fever. In critically ill patients, the disease may progress rapidly and may be combined with acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, uncorrectable metabolic acidosis and coagulation dysfunction, but it is more common in the elderly and frail people with underlying diseases.
