After successfully carrying out thoracoscopic radical lung cancer surgery, our department has successfully carried out thoracoscopic assisted radical esophageal cancer surgery and thoracoscopic combined with laparoscopic radical esophageal cancer surgery. These surgical methods avoid the shortcomings of traditional open-heart surgery such as large trauma, affecting lung function and slow recovery from postoperative complications, especially for elderly patients with poor lung function before surgery, they greatly improve the chance and success rate of surgery and have good application prospects. At present, total lumpectomy for radical esophageal cancer has been successfully carried out in a few hospitals in China.
