The eyelid formation method is divided into the buried line method and the incision method. The eyelid formed by the buried line method is not durable and easily becomes shallow or disappears, while the eyelid formed by the incision method is stable and durable, but the postoperative swelling is obvious, the recovery period is long and the incision marks are heavy. It is a difficult task in double eyelid surgery to discard the disadvantages of both methods while preserving the advantages of both. After many years of practical experience in double eyelid surgery, a new double eyelid surgery method was designed in 2006 – double eyelid surgery with a small incision in the outer canthus, which is different from the traditional double eyelid surgery method with a small incision and truly integrates the advantages of the incision method and the buried wire method, while discarding their disadvantages and retaining the buried wire On the basis of the naturalness of the double eyelids formed in the double eyelid surgery method, the double eyelids formed can be as stable and long-lasting as the full incision method. More importantly, the canthoplasty can be adapted to the individual’s eye characteristics, so it is suitable for most young women with one eyelid. Unlike the traditional full incision method where the upper eyelid skin is cut along the design line, a small 0.5cm incision is made on the outside of the designed eyelid fold line, and then the thickened tissue in front of the lid is removed with special surgical instruments. The advantages of this method are that the embarrassing incision scar on the upper eyelid is avoided and the resulting double eyelid fold is smooth and long lasting. The skin of the upper eyelid is not cut all the way through, so the upper eyelid tissue swelling time is short and the recovery time is similar to that of the buried eyelid.
