Frequent urination, urgent urination, nocturnal urination – acupuncture

Urinary frequency, urgency, and nocturia are the main symptoms of overactive bladder syndrome, and in severe cases, they are accompanied by urinary incontinence, which seriously affects the daily life and social activities of patients. The disease used to be more common in middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years of age, but in recent years the incidence of the disease is increasing year by year and the trend of rejuvenation; we have found clinically that more and more middle-aged and young people aged 30-50 years old are also being affected by the disease, especially women are more common; and it has become a major functional stubborn disease. The main clinical manifestations of overactive bladder disorder are: urinary urgency, daytime frequency, nocturia and urge incontinence. Patients urinate frequently every day, often as soon as they have the urge to urinate, and it is difficult to force them to do so, often more than 7 or 8 times during the day, and often more than 2 times during sleep at night. The exact cause of overactive bladder syndrome is still unclear, and there is no specific treatment or medication. Acupuncture has been recognized for its efficacy and rapid onset, especially the “acupuncture technique with electro-acupuncture for female urethral syndrome (i.e. overactive bladder syndrome)”, which was confirmed by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2009 as an appropriate technology for Chinese medicine to be promoted nationwide. Acupuncture treatment for overactive bladder can quickly and significantly relieve or even cure the symptoms of frequent urination, urgent urination and nocturnal urination, and significantly improve the quality of life of patients. It is a safe, simple, easy, economical and effective treatment method.
