Patients with exhibitionism are generally not homosexual because, by definition of the disease, the behaviour of exhibitionism, which causes one’s own sexual arousal through frightening and attacking others, is directed towards the opposite sex. Homosexuality, by exposing one’s sexual organs to the opposite sex, can also cause fright to the other person, but it is difficult to achieve sexual arousal because the other person’s gender does not correspond to one’s own sexual orientation.
