Etiology The main drugs that cause hypertension include hormonal drugs, central nervous system drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal drugs. Diagnosis When the use of a drug is required for a disease and a regular dose of the drug itself or an interaction between the drug and other drugs raises the patient’s blood pressure above 14O/9O mmHg, the diagnosis of drug-related hypertension is made. Treatment Once it is clear that the hypertension is related to the drug, the drug should be discontinued and replaced with another drug or treated with antihypertensive medication.
