There are two types of surgery for ovarian cysts: open surgery and laparoscopic surgery. The procedure of open surgery is performed after adequate preoperative preparation, in the operating room, by an anesthesiologist, and surgical treatment is performed after the effect of anesthesia. After dissecting the ovarian cortex, the ovarian cyst is gently plucked out, and the tumor cavity is sutured and closed layer by layer with 3-0 absorbable intestinal sutures. After no significant bleeding is seen during the operation, ovarian cortical inversion suturing ovuloplasty is performed, and as much of the ovarian cortex as possible is preserved during the operation. If the chocolate cyst is densely adherent intraoperatively, ovarian wedge resection can be performed followed by ovoplasty, which preserves the function of the ovary and maintains the female characteristics and also the function of reproduction. The procedure of laparoscopic surgery is the same as that of open surgery, except that it is minimally invasive.
