A normal man’s penis can get hard once he has sexual desire in order to prepare for subsequent sexual intercourse. Thereafter, as sexual activity progresses, the penis becomes further hardened and can be inserted into the vagina. The penis will remain hard and erect throughout sexual intercourse until ejaculation and completion of sexual life. What is meant by impotence? There is a clear medical definition of impotence. Impotence is the inability of the erection of the penis to satisfy and maintain a satisfactory sexual life, and this phenomenon has lasted for more than 3 months. The main symptoms of impotence are: slow or difficult erection at the beginning of sexual intercourse; sometimes an erection is achieved, but the hardness of the erection is not enough to make penetration difficult or impossible; some people have an erection and can be inserted, but the erection does not last until the completion of sexual intercourse, that is, the penis is soft before ejaculation. The above symptoms are the main manifestations of impotence. Of course, there are times when normal people are in bad shape and occasionally have erection problems, which usually get better with rest. Only if the impotence condition has lasted for a longer period of time, i.e. for three months, then it may be erectile dysfunction and further examination is needed. Impotence is a symptom that occurs in the course of sexual activity in both men and women, and is a very common disease. Combining some authoritative survey data from home and abroad, about 40% to 50% of men over 40 years old have different degrees of impotence problems.
