Mastectomy for breast cancer?

At present, the majority of breast cancers require mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection, but hospitals that have the conditions can try to perform simple mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery for early stage breast or in situ breast cancer. So far, the most effective surgical method for breast cancer is modified radical or radical surgery with axillary lymph node dissection and postoperative chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy, and even molecular targeted drug therapy. Generally speaking, the earlier the stage, the more timely the radical surgery and the more comprehensive treatment after surgery, the higher the probability of obtaining a cure. Due to the limitations, most of the hospitals with definite diagnosis of breast cancer usually perform radical or modified radical treatment, and a very few hospitals with better standards can adopt breast cancer resection with breast preservation, but only if the breast cancer is in early stage or in situ.
