Lipomas are composed of well-differentiated adipose tissue. Body surface lipomas are mainly derived from subcutaneous adipose tissue and are benign tumors. Generally lipomas are commonly found in the subcutaneous fatty layer of the head, neck, shoulders, and back. They can be multiple and can occur at any age, but are most commonly found at age 40D60. The lesions usually grow slowly and are round, soft and mobile to the touch. There is another group of multiple round or ovoid nodular lipomas, which are commonly found in the extremities, waist and abdomen under the skin. The size and number of these tumors vary, and they are slightly harder than normal lipomas and painful when pressed, hence the name painful lipoma or multiple lipomas. The tumor of multiple lipomas is small, about 1cm in diameter, and usually does not need to be treated after diagnosis. 1. Clinical manifestations 1. The mass grows slowly and is generally asymptomatic, with occasional tingling sensation when squeezed. 2. The skin on the surface of the mass is normal, and the mass is soft and lobulated on palpation with clear boundaries. 2. 2.The skin on the surface of the mass is normal, the tumor is soft to palpation, lobulated, and the boundary is clear. 3. Intraoperatively, the tumor is found to have intact envelope and lobulated fatty tissue. Treatment principle 1.Smaller (diameter less than 1cm) or multiple lipomas generally do not need to be treated. 2.Surgical resection is recommended for larger ones. Medication principle Generally, no medication is needed.
