Early symptoms: headache, mostly at the back of the head, accompanied by nausea and vomiting; vertigo, more frequent in female patients, insomnia, numbness of the limbs, commonly numbness of the fingers and toes or skin like an ant sensation, and inflexible fingers. Late symptoms: compensatory hypertrophy of the left ventricle, gradual decrease in renal function, polyuria, nocturia, azotemia or uremia due to renal failure. Brain tissue ischemia, producing different degrees of headache, dizziness, blurred vision, numbness of limbs or temporary aphasia and paralysis. Fundus, moderate sclerosis.
