How to prevent and control vertigo?

  Severe vertigo is manifested by the patient feeling rapid rotation of surrounding objects, unsteadiness with nausea and vomiting; milder symptoms are dizziness, lightheadedness, lightness of head and feet. Clinical can be divided into true vertigo and pseudovertigo according to the site of lesion.  What should patients and family members do when vertigo occurs?  They should call the emergency number and go to the regular hospital for treatment. Patients should keep quiet and lie flat in bed with eyes closed. If there is nausea and vomiting, the head should be tilted to the side to prevent vomit from being accidentally inhaled by the patient into the trachea, causing asphyxia and aspiration pneumonia. Be sure not to walk around at will and put on falls and bruises.  What diseases can cause vertigo?  There are five common diseases that cause vertigo: abnormal blood pressure (including hypertension and hypotension), cerebral arteriosclerosis, cervical spondylosis, otogenic vertigo, and motion sickness.  What are the characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo in Chinese medicine?  There are three types of dizziness diagnosis and treatment in TCM, namely deficiency, actual and mixed deficiency and actual. Specifically, deficiency is divided into two types: deficiency of qi and blood and deficiency of kidney essence; actual is divided into two types: hyperactivity of liver and yang and obstruction of phlegm and dampness; and mixed deficiency and actual is a combination of the two types. Chinese medicine has unique advantages in the treatment of vertigo, and there are some representative formulas from Chinese medicine. Insufficient qi and blood can be treated with Bazhen Tang; deficiency of kidney essence with Dihuang Yinzi; hyperactivity of liver and yang with Gentian Diarrhea Liver Soup; phlegm and dampness in the blockage with Han Xia Bai Zhu Tian Ma Tang.  Acupuncture is very effective in treating vertigo. We combine dialectical evidence and meridian, and often use the three acupuncture points for vertigo, including Fengchi, Taichong and Fuyao, which belong to the foot Shaoyang gallbladder meridian, foot Convulsive Yin liver meridian and foot Shaoyin kidney meridian respectively, and have a strong effect in clearing the brain and fixing vertigo in deficiency, actual and mixed evidence.  How to prevent vertigo?  Maintain an optimistic mood and regular outdoor exercise; second, a balanced diet; third, regular comprehensive medical checkups for early prevention and treatment of diseases.
