How to correct cross-eyes

Cock-eye is medically known as esotropia, which is characterized by the inability of both eyes to look in the same direction, and when one eye looks forward, the other eye looks inward. Esotropia includes congenital esotropia in children, adjustable esotropia in children and adult esotropia, and the treatment methods are as follows: 1. congenital esotropia in children: congenital esotropia often develops within 6 months after birth, and should be corrected through amblyopia treatment with balanced visual acuity of both eyes and then surgical correction of esotropia, and the optimal time for the surgery is within 18-24 months; 2. adjustable esotropia in children: the onset of adjustable esotropia is 2 and a half years old, and the manifestation is moderate, high, and far away. The population is 2 and a half years old, manifesting as moderate or high hyperopic refractive error, which can be corrected by wearing full-refractive prescription glasses, with regular checkups during the period of wearing, and adjusting the degree of glasses according to the refractive changes; if there is no effect after wearing the corrective glasses, surgical treatment is feasible to regulate the strabismus; 3. Adults’ Esotropia: Adults’ Esotropia is often caused by ocular diseases or ocular injuries, and glasses can be used to correct the Esotropia when the Esotropia is ≤15°, and when the Esotropia is ≤15°, glasses can be used for corrective treatment. When the strabismus is ≤15°, glasses can be worn for corrective treatment; when the strabismus is >15°, surgery can be performed under local anesthesia for corrective treatment. Because of the poor coordination between the eye muscles of both eyes, infants are prone to strabismus. You can hold them up and turn them around or put some toys in front of their eyes to increase the frequency of their eyeballs’ rotation, so as to avoid the occurrence of strabismus in infancy. Adults with internal strabismus should first actively treat the primary disease, and then proceed to the treatment of internal strabismus.
