Onychomycosis is not contagious and requires three conditions to be met: the source of infection, the route of transmission and the susceptible population. Some people may smell bad for a period of time after coming into contact with a person with oedema. This is due to the presence of sweat with a particular odour at the site of contact, rather than being infected with oedema.
