The possibility of recurrence exists in odorous sweating disorder. Whether or not odd sweat recurs is influenced by a number of factors, including the site of the disease, treatment, and lifestyle management. Patients with mild odour can be clinically cured by conservative treatments such as topical antibacterial medication, shaving of local hair, and keeping local skin clean and dry, but when they stop using medication, or do not take care of personal hygiene, there is a risk of reappearance of odd sweat. If laser destruction or surgical removal of some of the sweat glands is undertaken, the area will not recur as the skin no longer functions as a sweat producer.
