Cervical dizziness is one of the most common clinical symptoms of cervical spondylosis, and patients mainly present with sudden episodes of dizziness. Typical symptoms are sudden dizziness when the head is turned to a certain position, severe spinning and even fainting. Common symptoms Dizziness is a common symptom in patients with vertebral artery cervical spondylosis. Patients induce symptoms of dizziness due to changes in body position caused by extension or rotation of the neck. The vertigo caused by ischemic lesions of the vestibular nucleus usually lasts for a short period of time and disappears in a few seconds to a few minutes, and the patient may have mild disorientation and movement disorders at the onset, which may be manifested as unstable walking or tilting to one side; the vertigo caused by ischemic lesions of the vestibular nucleus is not accompanied by impaired consciousness. The vertigo caused by vestibular neuropathy is central vertigo; the vagal ischemic lesion is peripheral vertigo. Some patients have nausea and cannot raise their heads during acute attack. A few patients have diplopia, eye tremor, tinnitus and deafness, etc. Signs During the onset of vertigo, the patient’s neck movement is restricted. On palpation of the thumb at the back of the neck, the affected vertebrae are rotated and shifted to one side, and there is obvious pressure pain at the spinous process and the joint of the shifted synapse. Diagnosis Vertigo is a characteristic of the disease when the head and neck are rotated, also known as cervical vertigo. This is because the rotation of the head mainly takes place between neck 1 and 2, and the vertebral artery is most easily compressed here when the head is turned. 1. Cervical vertebral artery twist test: the patient’s head is slightly tilted back and the patient’s head is rotated from side to side, and if the patient becomes dizzy, it is positive. 2, cervical spine X-ray, CT and MRI examination found cervical hook joint hyperplasia, narrow intervertebral foramen, vertebral joint instability, cervical disc herniation, etc.; vertebral arteriogram can see vertebral artery narrowing or twisting phenomenon. Drug treatment Choose to apply pain relievers, sedatives, vitamins (such as B1 and B12), and hospital medications such as vasodilators and Chinese herbal medicines, which are effective in relieving symptoms.
