What to do if there is blood in the sputum of pulmonary tuberculosis

If a clear diagnosis of tuberculosis is made and he or she develops blood in the sputum, there is no need to worry too much about this condition. The first step is to give regular anti-tuberculosis treatment, including rifampin, isoniazid, ethambutol and pyrazinamide, and to take oral hemostatic drugs such as Yunnan Baiyao. In most patients, the symptoms of blood in sputum will gradually improve after the above treatment. If the amount of hemoptysis gradually increases, absolute bed rest, intravenous hemostatic drugs and, if necessary, posterior pituitary hormone are required. Most patients will gradually improve their clinical symptoms after treatment, but if the hemoptysis does not improve, interventional surgery is required to stop the hemorrhage.
