What causes a big head?

Big head dolls are mostly caused by two conditions. The most common cause is hydrocephalus, followed by malnutrition caused by improper feeding. Hydrocephalus is caused by the obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid flow due to the overproduction of cerebrospinal fluid and compression of cerebrospinal fluid traffic as a result of diseases such as brain tumors and congenital hydrocephalus in children. Clinical manifestations include enlarged fontanel and separation of cranial sutures, which require surgical treatment. Also vitamin D deficiency rickets can lead to increased head circumference in children, and due to ossification of the skull, infants usually become square cranial after seven or eight months. In addition, improper feeding is an important cause of macrosomia. Insufficient breast milk or insufficient protein intake, long-term use of low-quality milk powder with low protein content, starchy food, etc. will cause edema of the infant’s head, which is manifested as a large head and small limbs. Normally, attention should be paid to balanced nutrition and choose regular milk powder for feeding. It is recommended that children should seek timely medical treatment under the escort of their parents, and in serious cases, early surgical treatment.
